Parole sentimental

Even though the language is a pre-existing collective understanding, they echo so utterly different in each individual. Parole sentimental is a device that attempts to measure human emotion's intensity in literature. It constructs microcontrollers, liquid crystal displays, and GSR-sensor which measure conductivity. The term "parole" refers to the linguistic theory by Ferdinand de Saussure which means the concrete act of the language user and the specific use of language and this project explores comprehension in literature.

Based on biological responses from the human body the device reflects the emotional intensity by firstly it selects a "suitable" passage from Allen Ginsberg's poem "Howl" and slowly "typing" out on the device. Then as the animation goes on if any emotional intensity increases during the attachment between the viewer and the device, the speed of animation increases.
